Well my line as been empty for two weeks. The rivers are starting to open back up so hoping for some movement here shortly. Been helping out a buddy who is just starting out and he has caught 1 marten, 1 mink, 1 fox,1 skunk , and a nice old male coyote. Got all his fur finished up tonight and now ready to crash. Work has been crazy with changing hours daily for all the snow that's here right now and forecasted all week. Plowed and blew snow for 8 hours strait then come home and do it at my house then skin. All the non- main roads are closed for the winter now so got my sled fired up and ready to go out and pull wolf traps till u slow down a little. Hope everyone is having better luck and stacking up the fur. Jon

Same here. Just got a chance to get some sets out. Will check tomorrow. Hoping I don't get a otter or beaver in my mink and rat sets cause I'll lose some traps that way lol

Good luck out there, hope you catch a few. I got my wolf traps pulled this morning before work and got the sled stuck once but managed to get it out. Going to run my other line tomorrow and kinda dreading it. It's all real flat country and the wind blows and driffs up the snow. Not going to be a fun ride. I tried to get in with my truck but no luck now. Got just over a foot of wet sticky snow and it was warm today and going to be the same tomorrow. Was thinking about pulling everything but can't do it in my mind yet. Tomorrow's check will be the deciding factor. Hope you all have a great and safe Thanksgiving. Jon.

Went out and checked the river yesterday and it's all opened up, so I got a bunch of beaver, mink, and rat sets in. Found and cleaned up all my K9 sets and got a few marten boxes out so hoping to be skinning in the next few days. I got a good trail backed in the snow for my snowmobile so traveling is easy. Saw some wolf tracks on the way out so I will get them set tomorrow and hope they come back through. Forecast says snow all week but not real cold so hoping the critters will be moving before the storm moves in. Had a mink I think in a weasel box cause the door was torn off and trap and critter was gone. Saw a area that was tore up so I dug around all over the place looking. Not for sure if a rapture took off with it ( couldn't find any tracks or drags. I will take the metal detector out and see if he buried himself somewhere. Jon

Running mostly 330 and a few #5 coil Bridgers for the beaver and # 3 coil Vic's and Monty with a few Vic 1.75. I like the bigger sets for the amount of snow ( Even though I haven't got a coyote yet). Would like to change up and run MB- 650 next year. I ran some #3 and #4 Dlb longs but kept having pull outs on the beaver. I need to get into doing some snares. Jon

Well I hope you have some success.. I finally connected on two coons this morning had the sets out since Wednesday and had nothing in any of them all weekend. I think with the holiday and warm up there were to many hunters making them stay holes up all weekend. But I am sure glad to have gotten two. I will be stopping trapping for about 3 weeks to finish out school and finals strong then be hunting for a job while I trap.

Right now I am looking at a Male Drug Test collector position and a Juvenal detention technician position. I want something that pays well and maybe in a manager/supervisor position. Tired of hard labor. I graduate this semester with my A.S. Of liberal arts. Will work while wife finishes her bachelor degree and then go back for mine... Still after elk eh?

Copy good luck with finding the job you want. Yep still hunting elk. I missed all if Archery season due to work and hiked the hills flat during rifle and nothing. So I have a about a week to try with my muzzleloader. Are you going to be going to the Upper Snake River fur auction down in Blackfoot in Jan?

Hear you there. Blackfoot is almost two hours away from me but the closest auction. You have to be a member to sell is the only down side. Not for sure yet what I want to do. It crossed my mind to send everything to Moyles and then sell the finished pelts. I picked up a small beaver and a big skunk tonight so will get them put up tomorrow after work. The rivers started to freeze up agin but not thick enough to walk on yet, I post hold one leg through three times tonight walking in the dark. Sure was peaceful out there. Jon
