Well today after classes I will be heading down to set for muskrat, mink, and coon. With having Tuesday off I am able to let my traps have more time to work. I'll set today check Sunday, then Tuesday and pull til next weekend. Hope I get some rats they are fun and I want to try my grinders I found at the DI and make some bait

I set three DPS , a dozen 110 , and 19 colony traps today... I think i have a good chance of getting something... The sandbar I put the DPS on was tore up with coon tracks all over it.. I also found a very active muskrat house and set six of the 110s around it.. Will check sets on Sunday and see what I get.. That will determine how many more sets I will put in..

Got one muskrat today. Not as good as I was hoping for but hey it is a start. I had 2 out of the three dps knocked over on there sides and all the bait was missing. I reset the dps put more bait in and added two more dps to the spot. Hoping that I will have more critters Tuesday.

Well now you have Broken the ice and will be catching like gang busters. If your DPs got robbed the critters should be back. Good luck and hope you catch increases.

I had troubles with the coons robbing DPs by tipping them over and dumping them out. Had to add a marshmallow to make them dig it out. If mice or chipmunks are getting the bate, hang from a low tree limb or bush off the ground. The coon will still reach them. Good luck Dave

Only 10 to 12 inches up to stop the mice. I used bread twisty ties and bent a bush over just strong enough to support the weight like a balance and when the wind blows, the movement and chain raddle was like a dinner bell ringing. Dave

Good deal. Think most the coons hear holed up for the winter with these cold temps. Keep stacking them up.

The fur industry is saying that coon is going to be a loosing battle as far as fur value. I would like to pick up some my self.
