Finally getting everything cleaned up and ready to go for this fall. Cleaned all my footholds and going to dye tomorrow if I don't get called out. Built 5 new beaver boards, three new deep water stakes, and took two hog panels and cut them up so I can use them for funneling beaver. Still need to make a few orders and rebuild a bunch of body grips but it's all coming to gather. With the outlooks on prices I am thinking about hitting the beaver for some ranches real hard till snow get deep then just look for wolves. Jon

It sounds like you're ahead of me. I've got my traps cleaned up and ready to dye and wax. So far other than that I've got a bunch of snares made up and I've got some tinctures going for when I start getting my bait stirred up.

Been a busy summer so far and still behind on getting my trapping gear ready. Got all my conibears fixed up and ready, wolf traps ready to dip in Full Metal Jacket, coyote and foxs traps ready to go, and built a bunch of drowning cables for my beaver sets set up. Still need to do some cleaning and organizing but on the road agin heading west. Hopefully I slow down a little here soon cause I have lots to do around the hose before the snow flies. Hope everyone is ahead of me and ready to go here soon. Jon

It's getting closer. Picked up a bunch more mink/ rat traps and needing to get them ready to go before the 22nd of this month. Got a few K9 sets out today since I couldn't wait any longer. Talked to a buddy of mine and he caught a nice red the other day so figured I would give them a try. Found a new bunch of beavers right behind my house and they are making a mess of the road so going to hit them hard so I can keep the road in working order. Anyone else getting any sets out and caught anything? Jon

Well it's been a slow start up to now. Went out to scout my beaver locations and most are dried up or no sign. It's a good deal for the ranchers but not for me. Have two more properties to go check out in the next few days and hopefully find some. Been picking up a few rats one coon and one mink. Got two skunks plugging up my K9 sets and got them drying now. The weather has been way to warm and not looking like it's going to change for the next few weeks so been checking every day. Had a buddy drop off a coyote he shot and I got it skinned and put up. The pelts are looking good so far. He coon was real blue but it was getting into everything around the place. Jon

Sorry I haven't been on here for awhile. Spring has flown by and I haven't had much of time to relax. I haven't had a chance to get my gear cleaned or gone through yet, but hoping to start this weekend. I got a bunch of fur to the tannery and all my late season catches frozen till I get time to finish them. I was able to get most my firewood done up so that's going to free up a lot of time this summer for working on traps and walking some new areas I want to try this winter. Hoping to cut back working this coming winter so I can extend my lines and put a better effort into stacking up the fur. Hope everyone has a good and safe Sumer. Jon
