We had a bad year with Distemper 3 years ago and the fox and coon are finally coming back. Now that some towns people have seen what Mother nature can do when animals get over populated, they will not mind harvesting a few to keep them in balance and around to watch. Dave

Beaver is what i like best, but i go after all that is presented for me. Our coyotes are poor in color and not worth much but they still need to be kept under control. Dave

Hi all, this will be my 3rd season by myself here in ID. I did some ADC work back in CO for a company I used to work for. The owner taught me quite a bit and really got me going. I haven't got big numbers yet but learning lots and having a good time taking my oldest daughter out. Mostly go after marten, beaver, k9s, and rats. Catch a few mink and skunks. Hoping for a wolf or two this season. Hoping to get all my gear finished up this week and ready get going.

Hi there. I just came across this site yesterday. I live in the southern part of the state and mostly am a land trapper. I've been after coyotes for about for about 20 years and bobcats for about the last five. I've recently have gotten serious about snaring. Very interested about all of it.

Jkelly welcome aboard. How's your season been down south? Heard tell there's some nice cats come out of the border areas. Jon

My cat season has been slow this year, I've only gotten one 45" tom. Compared to last year I had 4 by now. The coyotes have been really doing well. This has been my best year so far with 59 of mine and one of my 8 year old grandson's. I'm headed out in a little while to run my cat sets and pull the rest of my K9 sets. The dogs are starting to rub a little and looking a little rough. Might as well leave them for seed for next year. They looked good this year. I've got about three in the 60 that are not first rate pelts. I didn't see any mange this year - and that's a plus.

Nice work on the K9s. Coyotes seem to keep messing with me and I get close but still trying to catch one. Were I am now don't see much mange but I use to live CO and hunt Wyo-Neb a lot and the mange in all three places was 11 out of 12 dogs. I don't have many cats here in the coldera but see a few tracks were I work in the winter( can't hunt or trap). Good luck and hope Grandson is catching the bug. Taking the kids out sure makes the day fun. I have a 6 year old daughter, 1-1/2 daughter, and 3 month old son. The two oldest have a good time when I can take them with me but I do a lot from a snowgo so it's hard in the later part of the season. If you can would love to see some pics. Jon
