So I have read a few things on muskrat floats and one of the biggest things that stood out to me is how to make stubborn rats use the float. If you have muskrats that won't use your float find a toilet and take some of the droppings and put them on your float. The second thing you can try is take a muskrat you have caught in another trap and rub its' hind end all over your float leaving the smells. This from what I have read will make it so the muskrat are more eager to get on your floats. If any of you know if this truly works let me know, but I for one think this is a very legitimate topic. One that I will for sure be trying this season.

It was always said to pick up droppings and put on your floats. What you are saying is very much the same idea. Never had much luck with floats. I thought it was no stable enough and moved to much for them. I even made the Musky Motel that was suppose to have check ins and no check outs. The idea was good but it did not work here. Dave
