Pulled the last of my lines today. Picked up one more nice mink. We are having a big system move in this week and I didn't want to get stuck out there agin. Hope to babe able to get some more in next week. Kinda good/ bad feeling not having any traps out right now.

Season might be over for me after today. I still have a small water line out and picking up a few beaver and rats but now the weather has been warming up and raining. Our snow is leaving fast and getting bad to ride the sled on. I will go out tomorrow and check traps and see how bad it is. I will be leaving for work next week so hoping to leave them out till I get ready to go but this weather is not looking good. This time of year is hard for me to keep a line open anyway with my transition from winter work to my main job. It keeps me real busy for the next couple months. This was my best season so far with 14 beaver, 40 rats, 9 mink ( all big males), 6 coons, 1 red fox, 1 small ermine, and two marten. The marten have been hit really hard the last few seasons so I pulled all my traps in the first week to try and leave them alone. Next season I want to hit the K9s a lot harder and have a buddy who is going to help my try a figure out coyotes and I have a new place to try for marten ( if we get snow and keep it). Hope your season has been rewarding and your fur sheds full. Jon

Traps are pulled. I leave in the morning to go to class for work. Hoping to get back on Friday then get them back out ( if I can make it out to my areas). Jon.

I pulled the last of mine yesterday (cat sets). Now it's all about going through all of them and getting them ready for next November. Going to order some snare cable and locks and make up a bunch of them too.

Have really enjoyed reading your posts. I grew up on our ranch on Clearwater Breaks out by Lenore. Spent some time with my Dad trapping when I was younger and have all that in my blood. My Dads handle on CB was Trapper and I was Little Trapper. Miss those days and my Dad being gone now. Guess I need to invest in some traps and start hitting our 2000 again. Also have some land up on Whiskey Creek Grangemont area.

4Leads I have done some work over in the Clearwater area and it's some cool country. Looks like it could be some good trapping ground for sure. I was down in the Elk City area for a couple weeks and sure liked the looks of that area. Lots of elk, mulies, whitetail , bear , and wolves. Didn't see much for fur critters but looked like should hold marten. I take it you do some calling ? I used to call a lot down in Colorado and it sure is a blast. Haven't done much up here but keep thinking I should. Glad you are liking the sight and keep us posted on the up coming seasons. Jon
